Encounter of Fleeting Truths - 2019
In the country side of Norway, in a small village amidst the Forest Finn, I began to play with notions of surface and soul through physical connection with the natural landscape. This body of work is in response to my time here where I acted as a scribe, making rubbings of birch trees, whose bark sheds every year allowing for growth and new beginning. I love the balance of working with and against nature, using my hands, feeling its friction. There is a form of resistance that the landscape challenges you with. More work to follow.
